Day 7

Overall, after this fruitful trip, we learnt lots of things. Examples are: how is the life in Shanghai different from the life in Singapore, what are the different types of rockets and their functions, their school-teaching methods etc... This trip also gave us a better understanding of China's advance astronautic technology, foster closer bonds with our teachers and friends and gave us a chance to express our creativity and many more... We enjoyed this trip thoroughly. If there is another chance to go for an overseas immersion program(not to Shanghai), we would definitely go as we are sure it is going to be as fun as the Shanghai overseas immersion program. We would strongly encourage everyone else to go on a trip to Shanghai. Honestly, we really miss the cold weather there...Haha, it's just hotter in Singapore!! :)

Day 6

We went to experience ancient Jiangnan Mansion designs & exquisite garden architecture at Yuyuan Garden & Chenghuang Temple… Wow!! It is a very big area!! They sell a lot of things in the Chenghuang Temple…After that, we went to the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall… It located on People’s Square, Shanghai, China, adjacent government building. The Exhibition hall is a 6 story building, with two basement levels, which displays Shanghai’s urban planning and development. It includes models of planned and recent developments, as well as Shanghai’s history. The centerpiece of the exhibition is a huge scale model of the city of Shanghai, showing all the existing and approved building. After that, we went to Jiangnan Road…They sell a lot of things there… but the things there were expensive and it is not worth to buy them... =X

Day 5

Early in the morning, we went to eat our breakfast early, as we are going to the Oriental Pearl TV Tower… It is 420.5m high!! WOW!! It is located in Pudong Park in Lujiazui, Shanghai. The tower, surrounded by the Yangpu Bridge in the northeast and the Nanpu Bridge in the southwest, creates a picture of ‘twin dragons playing with the pearls’. The entire scene is a photographic jewel that excites the imagination and attracts thousands of visitors year-round. This 468-meter high (1536 feet) tower is the world’s third tallest TV & radio tower surpassed in height only by tower in Toronto, Canada and Moscow, Russia. Even more alluring than its height is the Tower’s unique architectural design that makes the Oriental Pearl TV Tower one of the most attractive places anywhere… The view of Shanghai from this height fills we wonder at the beauty that surrounds you… We took a lot of pictures from there… There were a lot of nice views over there!!

Day3

Today is the big day. We are launching our rockets. We collected our rockets and lined up according to our groups. Our group is Group 15...the last second group. We moved to the field and lined up to launch our rockets. Our rockets had a few problems but they were solved eventually, and our rockets were launched very successfully. After that, we went to the hall to watch the performance they put up personally. There were cheerleading, guzhen, yangqin etc. They also gave out prizes for those who won the Rocket-launching competition. Yong Qi won the third prize, Zhe Qi won the second prize and Wei Shan won the first prize. The prizes are trophies. We are proud of them, although we did not win. Finally, we performed singing with small dance steps for them. We sang 'Where We Belong' and 'Singapore Town'. Hopefully, they enjoyed it! Today was indeed an enjoyable and unforgetable day!
5:59 PM
Day 2

When we woke up , it was quite foggy, nonetheless, our excited spirits were not dampened.. We waited for one whole day just for this day.. We are going to our hosting school, Jin Xin Primary School. When we first entered the school, the pupils were doing their morning exercises !! We were truly impressed because back in our island home , Singapore, not alot of people will participate because of shyness ?? We lined up to go to the hall.. As we walked to the hall, we passed the school playground.. IMAGINE !! A playground in the school !! IN the hall, there are seats for us, unlike in Unity Primary School, we have to sit on the floor.. Of course, We're not saying that UPS is not good.. The representative pupils of Jin Xin Primary School began their speech with a gesture, their right hand moving upwards, above the head. After their speech, our teacher gave us a number for each pair of partner,1 , 2 & 3.. then we went to different classes.. Our number is 2, so we went for Maths lessons.. While walking to the classroom, we heard music and instructions.. We reached the classroom & found out the students were massaging their eyes.. So, they are doing their eyes exercise according to the music and intructions we heard along the way. After that, our Maths ;esson starts. We are asked to use all the 4 digits given to make '24'. Within one minute, almost the whole class found out the answer. Obviously, they are well-trained and the standard there is much higher than the standard in Singapore. Next, we went to the hall again.. When everyone was there, we proceeded to have lunch there. After lunch, we made our rockets !! Exciting !!

We sat a train that is magnetic , it is also very fast!! Then,we sat in a coach to our hotel(Astronautics Hotel) where we are going to live in for the following days. It's so tiring after sitting in the plane and coach for what seems like years to us!!
